Robbie Annette Lucas, 56, of Houston, Texas, passed away Saturday, August 20, 2005, after a lengthy illness. She was born April 10, 1949, in Houston. She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School and attended the University of Houston. Robbie retired from Southwestern Bell in 1988. On June 14, 1980, Robbie married her eternal companion, Perley Royal Lucas. Together they lovingly parented their three children, Erika Lucas-Davis of Phoenix, Arizona, Troy William Lucas, and Brittni Elizabeth Lucas, both of Houston. In addition, Robbie is survived by her granddaughter, Brooke Amelia Davis, and son-in-law, Harold Davis, both of Phoenix; one sister, two brothers, and numerous nieces and nephews. Robbie was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served there in many capacities in the Relief Society, Young Women, Primary, and Sunday School organizations. She taught early-morning seminary for nine years. She was involved in Public Affairs and Family History, particularly the Genesis group and the Freedman's Bank Records for African-American Family History Research. Robbie was a long-time volunteer in the Klein I.S.D. She served as a precinct judge for Harris County Precinct No. 614. Viewings will be held Thursday, August 25, 2005, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM and Friday, August 26, 2005, at 10:00 AM at the Klein Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 16535 Kleinwood Drive, Spring, Texas. Funeral services will follow on Friday, August 26, 2005, at 11:00 AM at the same location, with Bishop Duane Sevy conducting. Entombment will be in Cemetery Beautiful at 8401 Wheatley Street. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Robbie will be remembered by her immediate and extended family and wide circle of friends as one who truly made a difference in the lives of everyone she met. As health challenges diminished her physical capacity in these last months, her ability to reach out with love to others increased. She will be sorely missed by all who were blessed to have known her.
